Hello.
My nickname is Crimey. I have bought BTD6 on June 29, 2018 (2 weeks after the game was released). I want to write a pretty big rant of my personal experience playing the game and what is going on right now. Please do not start reading if you won't finish it. If you are not interested in races please close this thread now, I want constructive criticism and not a negativity from top 25% racers. This will be honest and brutal at times so honestly I won't be surprised if this post gets taken down soon. But worth a shot anyway.

I don't remember my first 6 months of playing. Then on December 12, 2018 patch 7.0 was released which added new gamemode to the game called "Races".

Since then my interest pretty much fully switched to playing races. I loved it like a completely new game! I've watched streams of people playing, videos of top times, I learned and it was really exciting. Then 8 months later by the end of July (26/07/2019) I joined a Discord server with people who played races and were as excited about them. A lot happened during 3 years of racing. We've had a lot of drama in the community, a lot of issues but it was still a fun gamemode and we appreciate the NK (and Tarn in particular) for making new races every week (regardless of their quality level sometimes). What I'd like to point out the most though is that in the opinion of racing community NK unfortunately does not care about the races and our community in general. It has been 3 years, we've asked for a lot of things. And while receiving some of those after a while it's honestly just a small percentage from what could've been done.

First I want to note good things that happened.

I am personally thankful to Tarn for cooperating with me and accepting 3 of my races and using them in the game. Minus my 3 races there were 6 other races submitted by other community members. However (!) Tarn said that other people submit race ideas to him and he can take them but still we've had only 9 races by members and 2 by community in general which makes it 11 out of 110 races so far (not counting the 2 from Rohan). The other 90% is made by NK which isn't bad but it'd be much more fresh to get more races from the community.
Somewhat listening to our feedback and disabling OP towers from some races. It's hard to manage but so far there's a reasonable balance for when those towers are enabled (like once a month is fine imo)
Wall of Fire wizard. A very long (almost 3 years long) story. We've asked to never enable wof, we've asked to nerf it and finally as of latest patch 22.0 they changed it... Maybe a little too much but it's still used so good enough I guess.

Trophy store. In patch 19.0 NK added trophy store to the game where you can spend trophies on cosmetic items. It is amazing but it took NK 12 patches (20 months of time, about 80 races) for them to implement it even though we asked for a way to do something with trophies pretty much since the beginning.

Let's talk about what's been changed in races over all updates. In green highlighted the actually good and important updates and what changed the gameplay. The most noticeable thing is that we had a relevant update in 11.0 (which actually was mostly a fix to autoclickers) and then nothing interesting until 19.0. Worth noting that patch 11.0 was released on 03.07.2019 and patch 19.0 on 08.07.2020. So we've had an entire year without updates pretty much and during that year we had 52 races (30 - 82). Then if we look at the "green" area worth noting that changes in 9.0 and 21.0 are bug fixes. So in reality over 3 years of races we've only had 4-5 updates that actually changed the mode somehow!

And now finally I want to get to the problems.

Rewards. This is by far the main and most discussed topic in the community over all 3 years. The only change in rewards we've had is trophies (at noted in patch 19.0) and instas (at first, top 3 receives set insta monkeys, then since patch 10.0 it was changed to random T5, T4, etc). But honestly that's nothing. Almost any racer asks for a way to get more monkey money or for cheaper races. Thankfully in the latest patch 22.0 we got a new MK which reduces race entry down to 90 mm and this is great but not enough. Most of you might not understand this but in some races top 3 racers can spend ~20-40k mm for their placement. And then since we get more playing and top 50 brought more competition then some people might spend 5-10k for top 50 as well. And so you spend 5k, then you might even not get top 50 but in reward you get 450 monkey money? Before it could've been explained by the fact that there weren't many players playing. But now on average we have 15-30k players playing each race (can be checked on index) and most find it not worth because of the "rewards" they receive in the end. We want a better system, we struggled for a long time. Over the past 2 years a lot of people started scripting and doing other illegal activities to afk gain MM just to race which puts others in a even bigger disadvantage. We keep asking - we are ignored.
NK does not want to accept feedback from us. As I noted earlier we have a Discord server where we have almost all top racers. And on 15.10.2019 Tarn (NK employee) joined our server to presumably get feedback from us. At first we did not have any problems (for the most part) but as of lately it almost feels like we're being blatantly ignored because of certain events which leads to the next point.
Race 107 "Out of Control". Exephur already made a video on that (can be found on YT) but the situation was absolutely outrageous. 58 people managed to get perfect time on that race and because of that all 58 people received Black Diamond badge for the first place. From those 38 people did not have a top 3 medal before and now in current races leaderboard just looks... bad. It honestly devalued, it almost feels not worth at all to get first place or top 3 if such situations can occur. The community asked Tarn TO NOT give Black Diamond to all players - we were ignored.
Cheaters. Not too long ago I already made a post slightly mocking NK and their current anti-cheat system. And we can understand that it takes time to fix those things but we keep asking and suggesting solutions but in the end we were ignored. At the very least we'd like some feedback on whether something is in plans or not.

I also wanted to write a paragraph about all previous bugs and how long it took to fix them but maybe it'd be too much.

As of latest race 110 multiple people from our community who received a time for a top 3 placement were removed from the leaderboard without any explanation. In addition to that this race ended 30 minutes earlier than usual which never happened previously in other 109 races. We contacted support but received absolutely ZERO answers whatsoever.

It is very tiring and upsetting to be treated this way by NK. Racing community is not big but if you keep doing new races every week then please try to accept the feedback from us or just stop doing races at once.
