    Dart Monkey Smash Moveset

    Ever since that one dude put Dart Monkey on his Fighter Pass 2 hopes, I've seen a few posts about DM in smash, such as the alternate costumes post. So I'll give my contribution, and create a moveset, consisting of Specials, Final Smash, general properties, and playstyle.

    Dart Monkey would be a mid-speed, lightweight character, with the moveset being heavily based around the tower defense genre, and the Dart Monkey's history. His regular moves deal lower than average damage and knockback and come out slower than normal, but his special moves make the character.

    Neutral Special - Dart Throw
    This move is a reference to the original Bloons game. Dart Monkey throws a single, large, aimable dart. It can be aimed similarly to Yoshi's Egg Toss, however, unlike the eggs, the dart can travel a very long distance but does not bounce off of surfaces. It deals very little damage and knockback.

    Side Special - Monkey Friends
    Dart Monkey's most defining move. When used, a monkey jumps forward from behind Dart Monkey. This monkey is chosen at random and can be a:
    -Boomerang Thrower
    -Ninja Monkey
    -Ice Monkey
    -Glue Gunner
    -Monkey Apprentice
    -Alchemist
    All of these monkeys have different behaviors, however, all have some things in common. They all disappear after 12 seconds, they can all be defeated by enemy attacks, and they are all affected by gravity.
    Boomerang Thrower - Throws boomerangs at opponents in range. They deal low damage, but high knockback. The attack has a 3 second cooldown.
    Ninja Monkey - Throws Shurikens at a fast pace at opponents in range. They deal low damage, and make the opponent flinch. The attack has a 1.2 second cooldown
    Ice Monkey - Every 3.5 seconds, lets out a short range burst of ice that deals damage and freezes opponents.
    Glue Gunner - Shoot globs of glue (that are equivalent to Inkling's Ink) at opponents in range. The attack has a 1 second cooldown.
    Monkey Apprentice - Shoots an exploding fireball at opponents in range. Deals a good amount of damage and OK knockback. The attack has 3 second cooldown.
    Alchemist - Throws potions at opponents in range, which poison them. If there are no opponents in range, it will start throwing buffing potions at the Dart Monkey if you are in range, which can slightly increase attack, defense, or speed for 7 seconds. All of this has a 2 second cooldown.
    After this move is used, you must wait 20 seconds to use this move again.

    Up Special - Monkey Ace
    Dart Monkey hops into a small plane (probably a 0-0-0 Monkey Ace plane), and swoops upwards at a 75 degree (ish) angle. The plane travels a short distance, then disappears. The plane itself deals no damage, however, if you press the button again during the move, you will drop an exploding pineapple. This pineapple explodes 3 seconds after it hits the ground, or upon hitting an opponent. This pineapple can be grabbed and thrown. You can also leave the plane early by pressing down. If you hit a wall during this move, the plane explodes, and you take damage.

    Down Special - Spike-O-Pult
    Dart Monkey places down a Spike-O-Pult in front of him. If you hold the button, the Spike-O-Pult will wind up, pulling the arm further backwards. You can charge it for about 2 seconds. When an opponent gets in front of the Spike-O-Pult within a certain range, the Spike-O-Pult will fire, then collapse. The range and damage of the spike ball increases based on how much you charged it beforehand. When fully charged, it deals very heavy damage. The spike ball has similar properties to Mii Brawler's Shot Put. The Spike-O-Pult can be destroyed by enemy attacks, and you can only have 1 Spike-O-Pult out at once. If this move is used in the air, then the Spike-O-Pult drops to the ground and cannot be charged.

    Final Smash - Super Monkey Fan Club
    Dart Monkey transforms into a Super Monkey. Nine other Super Monkeys join in behind you, and shoot out a barrage of darts in a line for a few seconds, keeping opponents locked in place similar to Samus's final smash. It ends with all of the Super Monkeys (except for you) dashing forwards, knocking opponents away.

    Dart Monkey's playstyle is all about controlling the stage. By using his side special to place a tower, then using his down special to place a Spike-O-Pult, you can take control of a large amount of area. However, you cannot rely on your area control alone, as opponents can easily destroy your setups. So, you must keep them occupied by fighting them, to make sure they don't have the chance to fight back against your towers or Spike-O-Pults. If the opponent tries to run, you can still hit them with Dart Throw, meaning that running away would be a terrible strategy against him. However, due to the Dart Monkey's lower than weight and attack speed, if your opponent decides to charge in and you have no towers or Spike-O-Pults set up, you are at a huge disadvantage.

    What do you guys think? I think it represents the Tower Defense genre well without being too OP, the randomness of Monkey Friends gives Dart Monkey a fun and unique gimmick that represents the series well, and the down special is a fun take on the all too common charge shot. The only move I'm not too sure of is the up special. While it represents the series, I'm not sure how well it meshes with the rest of the moveset. Please leave feedback in the comments.
